Starter prompt
This is Dispatch, a Buffer-style social media scheduler: a posting queue with time slots, a calendar, approval links, and posting to X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Mastodon, plus Threads, Instagram, and Facebook through Ayrshare. Help me set it up in this order: 1. Turn on automatic posting: create two Routines on this app, both hourly: the publishDue op (posts what is due) and the pullStats op (refreshes likes, replies, and reposts). Routines are not copied with the Template, so without them nothing posts on its own. 2. Ask which networks I post to, then walk me through Dispatch's Settings page for each. Bluesky is quickest (an app password I paste into the form). X and LinkedIn can connect directly with a developer app, or through Ayrshare (I link them in Ayrshare, then add AYRSHARE_KEY in this app's Secrets). Mastodon needs MASTODON_TOKEN in Secrets; if my server isn't mastodon.social, update the Mastodon origin in the manifest's permissions.server.fetch and the MASTO constant. 3. Ask whether I want client approval links. If yes, make this app Public with set_public; my queue stays private either way. 4. Ask what I want to post about, then draft a week of posts with the addPosts op (queue: true). Keep X under 280 characters and Bluesky under 300, and let me review them in the Queue. Never ask me to paste API keys or passwords into this chat. I enter them in the app or in Secrets myself.
Dispatch is a social media scheduler that works the way Buffer does, with your agent as the writer.
What you get
- A queue with posting times. Set your weekly times once. "Add to Queue" fills the next open slot, and empty slots show where a post could go.
- A calendar by month or week, with a day list on phones.
- A composer with a live preview for each network, character counts, images, and emoji.
- Approval links. Send a client one link. They approve each post or ask for changes, with no account.
- Your agent writes. Ask Claude or ChatGPT to draft next week's posts, and they land in your queue for review.
- Stats for likes, comments, shares, and views on sent posts.
How posting works
- Directly: X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, and Mastodon post straight from the app with your own keys. Bluesky takes about a minute to connect.
- Through Ayrshare: Threads, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and Google Business go through Ayrshare, a posting service. Ayrshare also catches a direct post that fails.
- Never twice: a post that might already be out is marked for you to check, not sent again.
Getting set up
Your copy starts empty and private. The setup prompt walks your agent through turning on automatic posting (two Routines), connecting your channels, and drafting your first week of posts. Keys stay in the app or in Charming's Secrets, never in chat.
