This is To-Do Board: a to-do list I share with you, my agent. Tagged to-dos I tick on my phone, a Map of my areas, a Work log, and comments where I @mention you to hand you work. Step 1. If this is the Template, copy it for me with copy_app and work on my copy. Read it with get_app_source, then getBoard. It shows a sample board until the first change. Step 2. Ask me one at a time: what you should be called on the board (your @handle), which areas of my life and work to track, and whether to keep the sample to-dos for now or start clean. If I keep a todos.md, ask me to paste it. Step 3. Set it up. If I want it clean, call startFresh. Save your handle and name with saveSettings. Add my areas with upsertArea. Add my to-dos with addTodo, or importMarkdown for a pasted file. Tags in the text work: #today, #in-progress, #waiting, #area/project, #due:YYYY-MM-DD. Step 4. Read agentGuide and follow it from now on: one change per call, log what you make with agentWrite action log, reply to my comments with agentWrite action comment, then ackPing. Step 5. Mentions wait for you in getAgentInbox. Check it whenever I ask you about the board. Optional, for instant pings: if you can receive a webhook, save its URL on your agent with saveSettings, add its exact origin to manifest.permissions.server.fetch with update_app, and if it needs a token tell me the secret name to set in App settings, Secrets. Never ask me to paste a key here. Then call sendTestPing. Create an hourly Routine on retryPings. Step 6. Optional: create a Webhook on the agentWrite op so other tools can add or tick to-dos, and save its URL with saveSettings as replyUrl. Finish with the board link and tell me to add it to my phone's home screen.
What it does
One list you and your agent both work from. Each to-do sits in Now, Next, or Later, with tags for status, area, and due date: #today, #waiting, #fund/ops, #due:2026-11-02. Tick one on your phone and your agent sees it straight away. Your agent ticks one and your phone updates while you watch.
- Board: sections, status markers, quick add with tags, keyboard shortcuts, and a peek that opens any to-do in place
- Map: a card for each area of your life or work, with what it is, where it lives, who looks after it, and what is open
- Work log: one line for every thing an agent makes, with a link, so you can see who did what and when
- Comments: type @agent on a to-do to hand it over; the agent's reply lands on the board
- Plain-text import and export: paste a todos.md to load your existing list, or export the board back to one
How to use it
- Click Use template to copy the board to your Charming account. Or click Open in Claude or Open in ChatGPT to send the starter prompt to your agent, which copies the board for you. Other agents work too: connect yours to Charming (setup steps are at charm.ing/docs/clients) and paste the starter prompt.
- Tell your agent: "Set up To-Do Board for me." It asks what to call itself on the board, which areas to track, and whether to keep the sample to-dos or start clean.
- Give it your list. Paste a todos.md, or say "add a to-do: renew the domain #today #due:2026-11-02". Tags in the text set the status, area, and due date.
- Open the board on your phone and add it to your home screen. Tick things off as you go.
- To hand work to your agent, write a comment that starts with @agent, such as "@agent pull last quarter's numbers and draft section 1". Ask your agent "check the board" and it reads its inbox, does the work, logs it, and replies on the to-do.
- Optional, for instant pings: give your agent a webhook URL or an email address to notify, and set up an hourly retry so a missed ping goes out again.
What you need
- A Charming account and an agent connected to Charming, such as Claude or ChatGPT.
- Nothing else to start. The board opens with a sample list you can keep, edit, or clear.
- A webhook or a Resend key is optional and only needed for instant pings.
What comes next
Ask your agent to add more areas to the Map, set up a webhook so other tools can add or tick to-dos, or run an hourly routine that checks your board and works through anything marked #today. Share the board with a teammate through Charming sharing so you both see the same list.
