Set up Claude

Add Charming to Claude from the connector directory, or by hand as a custom connector.

Charming is listed in Claude’s connector directory. Add it once and it works on claude.ai, Claude Desktop, and the Claude mobile apps.

Add Charming from the directory

  1. Open Charming in Claude’s directory. Sign in to Claude if it asks.

  2. Click Connect to Claude. The listing connects to https://charm.ing/mcp, so there is no address to paste.

  3. Approve the connection. This lets Claude call Charming’s tools.

  4. Start building. Ask Claude for an app in a new chat. Apps open in claude.ai, Claude Desktop, and the Claude Code desktop app. Claude Code CLI returns a browser link.

Add it by hand

Use a custom connector when your workspace hides directory connectors or when you need a different address, such as a self-hosted server. Add Charming to Claude in one click opens the form with the name and URL filled in. Claude warns about any connector added from a link; check the URL reads https://charm.ing/mcp and continue.

To fill in the form yourself:

  1. Open Claude’s connector settings.

  2. Click the plus button, then choose Add custom connector.

  3. Name it Charming, paste https://charm.ing/mcp, then click Add.

  4. Approve the connection.

Use more than one Claude account

Each Claude account connects to Charming on its own, so you can spread work across several, such as a work and a personal Claude account. Follow the steps above in each Claude account. Connecting a new one does not disconnect the others.

Apps, data, and plan limits belong to the Charming account, not to the Claude account, so every Claude account connected to the same Charming account builds in the same place.

To connect a Claude account to a different Charming account:

  1. Start the connection in that Claude account. The approval page says which Charming account you are logged in as.
  2. Click Use another account. Choose one this browser is already signed in to, or click Add another account and sign in with a different one.
  3. Approve the connection. The Claude account now works as the Charming account you chose.

A browser can stay signed in to 10 Charming accounts at once.

Build without MCP

claude.ai and Claude Desktop cannot make their own web requests, so the connector is the path there. Claude Code can: it builds through Charming’s HTTP API without any MCP server, which is often the shorter route in a terminal. See Set up Claude Code and Build over the HTTP API, or hand it this:

Connect me to Charming and help me build my first app. Use Charming's
HTTP API. Ask before starting account pairing, wait for me to approve
it, then read https://charm.ing/docs/build-http.md and ask me what I
want to build.

Your agent shows a pairing link and a short code. Open the link, enter the code if asked, and approve the connection. Both paths build the same apps in the same account, so pick one.
