Set up Perplexity

Add Charming as a custom remote connector in Perplexity.

Add the connector

Your organization must allow custom connectors. Add one yourself, or ask an admin to share one.

  1. Open Account settings → Connectors. Admins can use Enterprise settings → Permissions → Connectors permissions.

  2. Click + Custom connector, then choose Remote.

  3. Name it Charming and set the MCP server URL to:

    https://charm.ing/mcp
  4. Choose OAuth and Streamable HTTP.

  5. Confirm the custom connector warning, then click Add.

  6. Open the Charming connector card and approve browser sign-in.

Charming apps open at their own URL rather than inline.

See Perplexity’s custom remote connector guide for admin sharing and access controls.

Build without MCP

MCP is the shortest path here. If MCP is unavailable, or you would rather not add a server, any agent that can make HTTP requests builds the same apps through Charming’s HTTP API. See Build over the HTTP API.

Paste this instead of adding the MCP server:

Connect me to Charming and help me build my first app. Use Charming's
HTTP API. Ask before starting account pairing, wait for me to approve
it, then read https://charm.ing/docs/build-http.md and ask me what I
want to build.

Your agent shows a pairing link and a short code. Open the link, enter the code if asked, and approve the connection. Both paths build the same apps in the same account, so pick one.
